Wellness & Well-Being have emerged as two forces reshaping how we travel. One is of the physical, the other of the mental and emotional – both reinforce and complement each other.🪷
We’re putting these two trends under the spotlight at an intimate event in Kuala Lumpur this November 6, held at KLoé Hotel, which—with its focus on slow living and community ties—is part of this new movement reshaping travel.
Join us from 4PM–6PM, as we explore:
💫 Global Trends in Wellness Travel
A deep dive into where the wellness economy is headed – from the rise of longevity tourism and digital detox retreats to the mainstreaming of wellness into everyday hotel and travel experiences.
🧘♀️ Caring for Mental Well-Being
As the world becomes more connected and demanding, the need to look after our mental health has never been greater. We’ll discuss how travel can provide not just escape, but restoration, resilience, and community – for guests, employees, and leaders alike.
Join us for an evening of insight, dialogue, and inspiration as we connect the dots between wellness, well-being, and the future of travel.
🎟️ Free entry – seats limited, first come first serve.

Ng Ping HoFounder, Kindness of Strangers & KLoé HotelNg Ping Ho is the founder of Kindness of Strangers, a Kuala Lumpur–based hospitality company behind creative, community-driven spaces such as KLoé Hotel, BackHome Hostel, and LOKL Café.
A television writer and director turned hotelier, Ping Ho began his career telling stories on screen before turning his focus to shaping real-life spaces that bring people together. His first project, BackHome Hostel, redefined the backpacking experience in Malaysia with a focus on design and connection. This spirit of thoughtful hospitality continued with LOKL Café and later culminated in his most personal project yet — KLoé Hotel, a boutique stay built around the idea of slow living, creativity, and kindness.
At KLoé, Ping Ho collaborated with a collective of independent makers, artists, and designers to create five Artist Lofts — immersive spaces that celebrate the creative process. His approach to hospitality is grounded in empathy and intentionality — a belief that kindness should extend beyond guests to the people who make each space come alive.
Through Kindness of Strangers, Ping Ho continues to champion a new kind of urban hospitality in Malaysia — one that’s calm, creative, and deeply human.

My Indie World picked KLoé Hotel as the venue for the Wellness and Well-Being in Travel event because it reflects the spirit of slowing down, connecting deeply, and finding beauty in everyday spaces — values at the heart of what travel can be.
Tucked in downtown Kuala Lumpur, KLoé isn’t your typical urban hotel. Founded by Ng Ping Ho — once a television writer and director turned hospitality pioneer — the boutique property was designed around the idea of slow living — a sanctuary where guests can pause, create, and breathe in the middle of the city’s rhythm. Every corner feels composed with care — from sunlit courtyards that breathe to lofts designed for quiet moments that invite you to paint, cook, write, or simply listen to vinyl.
Meet the Makers behind KLoé’s Artist Lofts — the independent creatives who shaped each room into a living expression of art and imagination. Read more here.

Behind KLoé is Kindness of Strangers, a hospitality company built on the belief that kindness should be extended to everyone — not just guests, but the people who make these spaces come alive. From its beginnings as a humble backpackers’ hostel to the creative collective it is today, the team continues to craft calm, light-filled places that inspire creativity and feel like home.

By hosting our event here, My Indie World hopes to ground the conversation on wellness and well-being in a place that truly embodies it — where design, kindness, and community intersect, and where every corner encourages you to slow down, look inward, and reconnect with what truly matters.

We’ve partnered with KLoé Hotel to offer an exclusive deal for our community.
