Chocolate Garden

Made With Love

We used to live by a motto: "One for all. All for one." It represents our belief that one cup of coffee can serve everyone, and everyone comes for a cup of coffee.

Our journey began with Bong Piseth, a visionary who believed in the possibilities of the impossible. It started with a humble coffee cart called "The Coffee Mouy" and eventually evolved into a physical shop bearing the same name. Along the way, we have assembled a team of talented individuals who are not just dedicated to serving a cup of coffee, but also involved in sourcing beans, roasting our own coffee, and ensuring that we serve you the best possible cup.

Despite our diverse backgrounds, we share a common purpose. This unexpected journey has led us to establish a collection of specialty coffee shops and a roastery. From farming and roasting to the art of preparing and serving a cup of coffee, we believe that each step of the production process has a significant impact on the agricultural, industrial, and F&B sectors. By engaging in this business, we aim to contribute to the growth of the F&B industry in Siem Reap.

Fuelled With Passion

In the same vein, Chocolate Garden draws inspiration from 'Odom Garden' in Phnom Penh and 'Simply Happy Cafe' in Chiangmai. We envisioned a space in the heart of Siem Reap that combines these elements to create a place of "simply everything." Our vision encompasses a small coffee shop, an open library, accommodation options, and a garden - all served to cater to the diverse needs of any travelers.

"We firmly believe that such a place can fill the void that Siem Reap had been missing."

The inception of Chocolate Garden came about as a result of our scattered ideas converging in one particular location that caught our eye as we drove past. It embodies the motto: 'all for one. One for all' - a place where everyone is welcome, and all needs are met in one place.

Our concept revolves around creating a community space where individuals can come together to enjoy a cup of coffee, indulge in delicious food and desserts, share in the offerings of an open library, relax in a beautiful garden with friends, family, and even furry companions, explore a weekend market for shopping delights, and engage in workshops and events. We are passionate about crafting an experience that encompasses all these elements and fosters a sense of belonging and enjoyment for all who visit.

Driven by Purpose

In our quest to preserve the rich history of Siem Reap and celebrate its vibrant arts, culture, and heritage, we stumbled upon a hidden gem - a building dating back to 1961, known by its former name, 'The 1961 Co-Working And Arts Space.' Siem Reap has always been renowned for its artistic finesse and historical significance, and it felt like destiny had led us to this extraordinary place.

Unfortunately, the impacts of the Covid pandemic forced the closure of this cherished establishment. However, we saw an opportunity to revive its glory while maintaining its original essence. This space embodies both history and a haven for creative work and artistic expression. It is in this synergy that we found the perfect setting to combine our expertise in Coffeexarts.

At The 1961, you will not only find a delightful cup of coffee to savor but also an inspiring workspace where you can immerse yourself in your craft and appreciate various forms of art. We firmly believe that each element within this space has a profound impact on the F&B sectors we operate in, and it fosters a symbiotic relationship with the arts community.

By nurturing and promoting this integration of coffee and arts, we aim to contribute to the growth and development of Siem Reap's culinary and artistic landscapes. Our belief is that these sectors can complement and cross-promote each other, creating a vibrant and thriving environment for locals and visitors alike.
