Nestled in the serene hills of Balik Pulau, Penang, Green Acres Orchard & Ecolodge is the realization of a dream shared by Eric Chong and Kim Wong. In 2009, the couple, both seasoned corporate professionals, ventured into agriculture by acquiring a 16-acre orchard. Their goal was to reconnect with nature and provide their son, Adric, with a childhood enriched by the outdoors—a stark contrast to urban life.

The orchard, previously maintained by the original owner, boasts over 400 durian trees, some of which are over a century old. Eric and Kim embraced organic farming practices, cultivating a diverse range of fruits, herbs, and spices without the use of chemical fertilizers or pesticides .​

In 2014, they introduced the Durian Tasting Farm Tour, offering visitors an immersive experience into the world of durian cultivation. Guests embark on guided walks through the orchard, learning about sustainable farming methods and the intricacies of durian pollination. The tour culminates in a tasting session where participants sample various durian varieties, including Musang King, Red Prawn, and D24, each with its unique flavor profile .​

Beyond durians, Green Acres also offers a variety of tropical fruits, herbs, and spices, allowing visitors to taste the natural sweetness of produce grown without chemicals. The couple's commitment to sustainability and education has transformed their farm into a sought-after destination for eco-conscious travelers and food enthusiasts alike.
